With all this new technology comes new words, yes?
Well my new word is “unplugimination”: unplugging and eliminating some noise AND expenses!
That’s why I will be systematically unplugging and deleting many of my connections around the world starting with the ones that cost money…making deletion quite fun! :)
Now this is not to say that I do not value some of the services that I am using (for podcasts, online storage, website development, video production, etc, etc, etc.) However, it’s been so easy for me to get caught up on spending$0.99 here, $9.99 there and $49 over there, $199 over there; and $499 for that service and on, and on, and on! Where as before I knew it, I was spending over $1000 a month on services that I find that are no longer essential to my growth, personally and professionally. So I am implementing mission “UNPLUGIMINATION” to save $$$$$$ !
So, if I disconnect from a service that I was paying and you have become a friend of mine, don’t take it personal. My goal is to remove the non-essentials and save. And as my friend, you will understand. Hey, maybe you might even find a way to make your service essential to me.
Of course, as an education activist and a professional “geek”, it would not be practical to entirely unplug and discontinue any service that is essential to my work and activism, but I will unplug away.
Let the “unplugimination” begin.
