1. When its time for notes, take them and shut up! If you disagree with a note, even if you are right shut up! Talk to the person giving the notes in private after the secession or when there is time. This saves time and “face”…This is a BIG ego biz and the last ego you want to threaten is one “above” you.
2. Unless you feel like you are dying, never call in sick. Let the powers that be suggest it. “The show must go on” attitude is prized by them! If you have a half hour call, be there one hour before.
3. If your call is at hour, be there 1.5 hours before, Consistently. Establish a professional reputation early… they remember.
4. The word “Business”s is bigger than the word “show”. It is full of ego and politics. Learn those politics! And stay positive in all situations. You lose points when you express anger or aggression.
5. It does not matter HOW talented you are, you can ALWAYS be replaced, even with someone less talented. So save the diva/o attitudes for the family at home.
