Fearless Friday: Take Action, Even When You’re Afraid

Fear is a part of life. It’s natural, and at times, it can feel overwhelming. But here’s the truth: fear only has power if you let it stop you. The difference between those who grow and those who stay stuck isn’t the absence of fear—it’s the decision to take action despite it.

Fear Will Always Be There—Move Anyway

I’ve faced fear many times in my life—whether it was stepping onto the mats for the first time, making life-changing decisions, or pushing through recovery after my hip replacements. In every situation, I had a choice: let fear hold me back or move forward despite it.

Courage isn’t about not feeling fear. It’s about deciding that your goals, dreams, and growth are more important than your doubts.

How to Push Through Fear and Take Action

1. Recognize Fear for What It Is

Fear is a signal, not a stop sign. It’s your mind’s way of telling you that you’re stepping into something new and unfamiliar. Instead of running from it, acknowledge it, but don’t let it control you.

2. Take the First Step

The hardest part of overcoming fear is taking that first step. Whether it’s making a phone call, starting a workout, or stepping onto the mat, action is the only way forward. Don’t wait for confidence—confidence comes from action.

3. Surround Yourself with Strength

Fear thrives in isolation. Surround yourself with people who challenge and support you. When you train with others, learn from mentors, or connect with a strong community, you’re reminded that you’re not alone in this journey.
