“No, thank YOU!” was my only response to my friend yesterday.
Yesterday I spent 90 minutes making a new friend on skype. My new friend contacted me via email and asked if I would give him some feedback on helping him improve his customer service and build his business. After I received his request, I quickly put together a 20-minute video tutorial, broken down into five parts, giving him some initial feedback (you can see those videos HERE). I sent him the video attached to my email reply and scheduled a live skype chat for the next day.
When we finally met live via skype, we spent over 90-minutes getting to know each other. Sharing our ups and downs of life and offering each other some support and anecdotes to life, martial arts (we are both martial arts educators) and business. After sharing some suggestions for his business, my friend thanked me and added that he will look forward to paying me back some way.
As my friend said this, I was reminded of the many people in my life that have helped me, and are still helping me, to be the man that I am today. I am so grateful to the many that have invested time and energy in me. Thank you to all of you!
Below is a video that I created for my good friend / mentor/coach, Tom Callos. It was and is his work on The100 and the many meetings, posts, emails, videos and skype chats we’ve had over the years that has helped bring me to where I can be of service to others.
Helping others is my “thank you” to Tom, and to all those that have been and are a part of the work that it takes for me to be the education activist I am today, so that I can be of service to others.
Thank you.
