Celebrating My Friend, Master Les Kiersnowski. You will be missed my brother.

Celebrating the Life and Legacy of Master Les Kiersnowski

There are people who come into our lives and leave an indelible mark—not just as teachers, but as friends, mentors, and inspirations. Master Les Kiersnowski was one of those rare souls. His passion for martial arts was only matched by his love for life, and his dedication to his students and friends made him an unforgettable force in our community.

I first met Master Les in 2005. At the time, I was searching for a teacher in Modern Arnis, and fate led me to his school in Cinnaminson, NJ. From the moment we met, we clicked. His knowledge was vast, his skill undeniable, but what truly stood out was his willingness to share, to guide, and to support those around him. His teaching extended far beyond the physical techniques—he instilled wisdom, resilience, and a deep respect for the art and its traditions.

Over the years, Master Les played a pivotal role in my life. When I was preparing for my 5th-degree master belt in October 2011, he was there to help me craft a presentation that honored the journey I had taken. His insight and encouragement gave me the confidence to step forward and embrace that milestone with strength and clarity.

But his generosity didn’t stop at martial arts. When I set out to create my short film, Yes They Bleed, Master Les was right there with me, helping me bring the vision to life. That was the kind of person he was—always willing to lend a hand, always ready to support, and always bringing his energy and expertise to make things better.

Beyond his mastery of martial arts and his contributions to film, Master Les had an infectious joy for life. He was a great friend, someone who could light up a room with his spirit and make even the toughest challenges feel surmountable. His impact on those who knew him was immeasurable, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of everyone he touched.

To Master Les—I celebrate you. I celebrate the years of friendship, the lessons you taught me, and the unwavering support you always gave. You were more than a teacher; you were family. I will miss you deeply, but I will carry your wisdom and your spirit forward in everything I do.

Rest well, my friend. Your legacy lives on in all of us.
