A polite (read: PROFESSIONAL) greeting in today’s tech savvy world => My response in support of Renee Chambers Liciaga‘s Facebook video.
=> Tech should not take away, but enhance what we know to be true and real. The polite professional greeting has been proven in all generations to start and build new and lasting relationships. Don’t allow the new tech to create a new disorder that turns people into anti-social, distracted narcissists.
C’mon, people, let‘s keep the tried and true polite professional greeting in our digital lives. Create the ability to look people in the eye digital eye and say, Hello sir/ma’am. Let’s keep the Mr, Ms, and Mrs in. This is a mindset and it is up to you. It’s not difficult to do, but it does take time and effort and practice. And it’s worth it because it’s just unacceptable to sacrifice human connectedness on the altar of technological progress… and, believe me, it WILL pay dividends to those who make that connection in their professional worlds.
And that’s all I have to say about that…for now.
