Self Defense in Violence Against Women
The statistics for violence against women are discouraging. Everyday, four women are killed by abusive partners. An astounding 25% of girls will have experience a traumatic sexual assault by the time they turn 18. A woman is raped every 46 seconds in America.
These dismal numbers may be disturbing, but must be used as a catalyst for education and self defense training among women. Statistics prove that attackers are discouraged when a victim puts up a fight. Many say that they would not attack a woman who is carrying an umbrella or similar objects because they may be used as weapons. Learning about these facts is key to our safety and survival as women.
