Speaking with Peter Liciaga

LIVING STRONG

Becoming More Skillful at Being Human

Peter Liciaga speaking to an audience

For more than five decades, martial arts has been part of Peter Liciaga’s life. But the lessons he shares aren’t simply about martial arts.

They’re about being human.

Through stories drawn from a lifetime of martial arts, performing, teaching, family, loss, leadership, aging, adversity, and starting again, Peter invites audiences to look at the challenges in their own lives a little differently.

His message is practical and deeply human: We don’t have to have everything figured out. We can become more aware. We can make better choices. We can keep learning. And we can keep becoming.

Conversations That Matter

Peter’s presentations are not lectures about how to become a martial artist.

Martial arts is the lens.
Being human is the subject.

Through stories, humor, reflection, and practical principles, Peter creates conversations about resilience, personal responsibility, relationships, leadership, aging, adversity, service, and continuing to grow through every season of life.

Audiences leave with practical ideas and questions they can use when life gets difficult, relationships become challenging, or the next right step isn’t obvious.

BRING YOUR A-GAME

Awareness. Assessment. Appropriate Action.

When life puts us in a difficult moment, Peter returns to three simple questions:

What can I do to make this better?

What can I do to not make this worse?

What am I missing?
What do I need to know that I don’t know?

Not perfect action. Appropriate action based on what we know, what we understand, and what the moment requires of us.

Speaking Conversations

Living Strong

Becoming More Skillful at Being Human

What does a lifetime of martial arts actually teach you about living?

Through stories from his own journey, Peter explores resilience, responsibility, relationships, adversity, service, aging, and the lifelong process of becoming.

Bring Your A-Game

Awareness. Assessment. Appropriate Action.

Life doesn’t always give us time to prepare. Sometimes we’re standing right in the middle of a difficult moment and have to decide what to do next.

Peter shares a simple framework for slowing the moment down, seeing what’s actually happening, and choosing an appropriate response rather than simply reacting.
