Yesterday, I heard something that stopped me in my tracks. A couple of people who purchased my Living Strong Anthem soundtrack told me that the track that hit them the hardest—the one they kept going back to—was the very first one: “Ignite The Night.”
That meant something to me, because Ignite The Night wasn’t just the opener of the album—it was the spark that started it all.
It was the first track I wrote and produced, pulled straight from the pages of my journal.
Those pages were filled with raw thoughts, feelings, and fragments of moments from my life. Words I scribbled down in the early morning hours. Phrases that carried the weight of struggle and the spark of hope. And as I pieced those words together, I realized I wasn’t just writing lyrics—I was putting my journey to music.
Born from Shadows and Fire

That’s not just a lyric—it’s my life. Growing up in the Bronx, I knew what it was to walk through fire. I knew the feeling of dreams breaking apart in your hands and still searching for that one ember of light. I also knew that every fall was a lesson, and that those lessons—painful as they were—would become the foundation of my strength.
Living Strong: Not Perfection, But Evolution
The chorus says it plainly:
“You’re never too old, broken, bruised, or beat… it’s never too late, get up off your feet!”
That’s the heartbeat of Ignite The Night—and really, of the whole Living Strong movement. I’ve lived enough life to know that perfection isn’t the goal. Survival isn’t even enough. The goal is evolution—to take every scar, every setback, and use it as raw material to build a stronger version of yourself.
This song is a reminder that no matter how many times you’ve been knocked down, the act of standing up—again and again—changes you. It renews you. It fuels your fight.
Music as a Bridge
When I wrote Ignite The Night, I wasn’t thinking about making a radio single or chasing a sound. I was thinking about connection. I wanted this track to feel like the conversation you have at midnight with someone who’s been there—someone who understands the shadows you’ve walked through and the weight you’ve carried.
That’s why so many of the lines come straight from my journal. They’re unfiltered. Honest.
They carry the grit of the streets, the hope of a fighter, and the perspective of a man who’s learned that light is always worth chasing.

I think the reason Ignite The Night has struck a chord with so many is because it’s not about winning every battle—it’s about not giving up on the war. It’s about remembering that we are more than our pain and that every moment—good or bad—can be a defining moment if we let it.
It’s an anthem for the dreamers, the fighters, and the ones who refuse to be defined by their darkest days. It’s for the people who believe, as I do, that it’s never too late to light the match and spark the change.
