My First 90-Day Blueprint for Recovery: Living Strong After Double Hip Replacement

As I prepare for my return to the mats after double hip replacement surgery, I’ve spent a lot of time reflecting on what it means to recover with purpose, strength, and determination. Today, I’m thrilled to share with you my personal 90-Day Blueprint for Recovery. This plan is not just about regaining mobility and physical strength but about embracing the journey of transformation—body, mind, and spirit.

This blueprint will guide me through 90 days of structured rehabilitation and martial arts training. It includes:

  • Physical Therapy: Partnering with my expert therapists at Restore, I’ll work on mobility and strength every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
  • Martial Arts Training: Incorporating Tang Soo Do forms (kata/hyungs) and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) solo drills, partner flow drills, and modified curriculum designed with my recovery in mind.
  • Rest and Reflection: Sundays will be dedicated to mindfulness, gratitude, and active recovery to ensure balance.

The Tools of Recovery

To stay organized and to help document this, I’ve created a 90-day journal with daily pages for tracking progress, reflecting on challenges, and celebrating victories. Each day has space to document my physical therapy, martial arts practice, emotional state, and moments of gratitude. Sundays are reserved for weekly reflections to realign and recalibrate my goals.

This journal is the heart of my blueprint—a tool that will keep me focused, accountable, and grounded.
