As I prepare to celebrate my 63rd birthday on May 9th, I find myself reflecting on the incredible journey I’ve been on, particularly my longstanding association with Dinoto Karate Center. For over two decades, I’ve had the privilege of being part of an organization that transcends the boundaries of mere martial arts training—it’s a family, a community, and a force for empowerment.
My journey with Dinoto Karate Center began in 1999, a pivotal year that marked not just the start of a new chapter in my life, but the forging of lifelong friendships and a shared commitment to empowerment. Under the guidance of Master Michael Dinoto and his wife, Master Erika Dinoto, I embarked on a path that would not only transform me as an individual but also empower countless others within our community.
When the world was thrust into the chaos of the 2019 pandemic, our resolve was tested, but so was our unity. Recognizing the need to stand together and serve our communities in their time of need, Dinoto Karate Center partnered with the Action Karate team. It was a collaboration born out of necessity but fueled by a shared passion for empowering families, communities, and youth.
Through martial arts, we have empowered thousands of families to lead mentally, emotionally, and physically strong lives. Whether someone trained for just a few months or dedicated over two decades to the practice, the impact is profound. It’s an honor to be part of something that has been such an integral part of my life since I was nine years old.
As I reflect on the roads I’ve traveled, I’m filled with gratitude for the lives that have touched mine and the lives that I’ve had the privilege to touch. None of this would have been possible without the unwavering support of my amazing wife, Mrs. Renee Chambers-Liciaga. Back in 1999, when we were expecting our first child, Alexandra, Renee and I embarked on a journey to create a new path for our family.
As a performing artist traveling across Europe, the prospect of building a stable livelihood at home was daunting. However, with the guidance and mentorship of Master Dinoto and Master Erika, we found our way. Together, we built Dinoto Karate Center—a testament to the power of collaboration, determination, and unwavering support.
Now, as Dinoto Karate Center becomes part of the Action Karate family, I am filled with excitement for the future. The mission to empower others will continue, as will our commitment to creating future leaders, teachers, and school operators. It’s inspiring to see students start as young as three years old, progress through our program, and eventually go on to start their own martial arts journeys.
I am eternally grateful for the opportunities and support that have shaped my journey with Dinoto Karate Center and now, as an extension of that journey, with Action Karate. To Master Michael Dinoto, Master Erika Dinoto, and my beloved wife, Renee, thank you for believing in me and helping me realize my potential. Together, we’ve built something truly special—a legacy of empowerment that will continue to inspire generations to come.
Join me in celebrating the power of empowerment, the strength of community, and the journey of a lifetime with Dinoto Karate Center and Action Karate.
Warm regards,
Peter Liciaga
